Earlier this year, tantalizing leaks surfaced, shedding light on the Splinter Cell-inspired gameplay mechanics of Assassin’s Creed Red. These leaks also hinted at the possibility of a female protagonist, and it seems that this notion may have received unofficial confirmation courtesy of an Ubisoft employee with Assassin’s Creed Red leaks via LinkedIn.

Pierre Boudreau, a game writer at Ubisoft, recently made an intriguing update to his LinkedIn profile, a move that didn’t escape the eagle-eyed fans. Boudreau’s banner prominently featured artwork that bore a striking resemblance to the confirmed setting of Assassin’s Creed Red.

The image in question was first spotted by Access the Animus and subsequently shared on Twitter. This artwork showcased a logo, designed in the traditional style of Japanese calligraphy known as shodō, accompanied by an image of a female Assassin wielding a Katana.

What truly solidified the association with Assassin’s Creed Red was the backdrop, entirely saturated in the game’s primary color, as well as a structure featuring the distinctive hogyo roof, a hallmark of Japanese architecture from the era in question.

Enthusiastic fans took to the comments section of the tweet to express their excitement and curiosity. “Did he jump the gun?” wondered one user. “This is a pretty big teaser.”

Following the online buzz, Boudreau promptly removed the image from his LinkedIn profile, substituting it with a banner featuring Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. The rapid correction only fueled further speculation that the artwork was indeed a legitimate piece connected to Assassin’s Creed Red.

Regrettably, for the fans eagerly awaiting the game, Assassin’s Creed Red is still quite a distance away, and the official title remains a well-kept secret. At least, this particular image did not reveal the game’s name. However, given Ubisoft’s penchant for titles that resonate with the settings of their games, it wouldn’t be surprising to see Assassin’s Creed Rising Sun officially confirmed in the near future.

As the excitement continues to build, it’s clear that the Assassin’s Creed community is primed and ready for their next adventure, and Feudal Japan is a destination that has captured their collective imagination. Ubisoft’s successful track record suggests that this forthcoming installment will be worth the wait, but for now, fans will have to savor the tantalizing hints provided by Pierre Boudreau’s LinkedIn update.
