Modern Warfare 2 Season 5 and Call of Duty 2023 Reveal Event confirmed for later date
There are rumors circulating that Activision may hold a special Call of Duty reveal event in September to unveil details about Season 5 of Modern Warfare 2 and provide the first look at the 2023 Call of Duty game.
Get ready for new maps, modes, and more when Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Season 5 kicks off on August 2nd. Among the highlights, players can look forward to the return of the classic Strike map from Call of Duty 4, as well as Havoc Core and 20v20 Big Capture the Flag in MW 2 Season 5 COD reveal event.
Additionally, Gunfight mode is expanding with three new variants – Custom, Snipers, and Armored Gunfight – bringing more variety to the 2v2 arena.
Perhaps most intriguingly, the emergence of Shadow Company CEO Philip Graves hints at major story developments to come. Graves’ presence fuels speculation that Season 5 may reveal more about Shadow Company’s motivations and long-term plans within the Modern Warfare universe.
Activision has now confirmed that Call of Duty 2023 will also be unveiled during Modern Warfare 2’s Season 5. The official Call of Duty Twitter account broke the news, and a blog post described a special limited-time Warzone event where players must secure a dangerous chemical weapon. The teaser image shows Zaya Observatory engulfed in red smoke, suggesting the action may center around Al Mazrah.
While Season 5 goes live on August 2nd, the worldwide reveal for 2023’s Call of Duty will come at a later, unspecified date during the season. Additionally, Warzone players can choose factions to support in the “Faction Showdown,” separate from the 2023 title’s unveiling event.
After months of anticipation, Call of Duty fans have a lot be excited about in the coming weeks. The packed Season 5 is shaping up to enrich Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer, while also moving the narrative forward and providing the first glimpse at the future of the franchise.
